Hohae Textile continues to pursue harmony between its corporate business activities and environmental safety by making environmental safety a top priority and selecting and implementing core tasks to reinforce related competitiveness and executive power.
FACILITY (efforts to reduce carbon emissions)
We continue to make incessant efforts to reduce carbon emissions.
By replacing conventional, fossil fuel dependent, hot air dryers to a microwave-type high-frequency dryers in our facilities, we have reduced the amount of carbon emissions generated in the process to 0%, and the post-drying process has also been improved to proceed more quickly and safely.
Conventional boiler oil used for heat required between processes is currently being replaced with eco-friendly, low-carbon oil (Hi-SENE) and reduced pressure refined oil (recycled oil) with less than 0.1% sulfur content. In addition, we are constantly striving to actively seek and introduce new energy fuels that can more effectively reduce carbon emissions.
Dyeing factories use a lot of water due to the nature of the dyeing process, which results in a lot of wastewater being generated. As such, the dyeing process can lead to serious environmental pollution. As such, Hohae Textile is currently operating a modern wastewater treatment system by actively reflecting it in the design when the plant is completed, and through strict wastewater quality management, we are fully meeting the standards of the Korean Ministry of Environment.
PRODUCTS
Environmental protection is a promise to future generations.
We are making active efforts to use eco-friendly products for ancillary chemicals used in the production process.
Hohae Textile uses chemical products by Dong Lim Chemicals, which has been certified as a ”Bluesign System Partner" in Switzerland, and we are continuously seeking and making efforts to replace all chemical products, other than softeners and oils, used with eco-friendly products.
Eco-friendliness will not be limited to just the environment.
We will also protect the animals which live and breathe. Accordingly, Hohae Textile is actively introducing TIANYOU Wool Industry's wool top, which has acquired RWS certification (certification to prevent animal cruelty in the production of wool products) from the Control Union.
The Earth's resources are finite.
For the sustainable development of humanity, on March 11, 2020, the EU announced the New Circular Economy Action Plan through the European Commission. In line with the global trend based on the key phrase of a 'virtuous cycle of resources', Hohae Textile is actively promoting the use of recycled materials (recycled poly, tencel, etc.), and for natural raw materials, we are also actively expanding the use of recycled wool top or noil silk reprocessed using dropping from the production process.

For the development of human-friendly textile materials, we are actively introducing hypoallergenic, organic ingredients. In response to viral pandemics, which have become a major issue in the 21st century, we are actively seeking antiviral substances that can respond to natural fibers, and we are accelerating new product development research using these.

We eliminate the risk of accidents that may occur in the work environment in advance, and ensure thorough safety awareness by providing regular work safety training. We are also legally complying with all standards regarding safety and equipment in all workplaces.
We are continuing our “Virus Zero” campaign.
By introducing the latest LTG air-conditioning system for stable air circulation and proper constant temperature and humidity maintenance in the workplace, and for the respiratory health of workers, the condition of the internal air is constantly automatically adjusted to its optimum state, and we are continuously conducting the 'Zero Virus' campaign to keep the workplace clean.
The working environment has been dramatically improved with the latest production lines.
The textile industry has always been classified as a labor-intensive industry. However, Hohae Textile's plant has dramatically improved the labor-intensive working environment by implementing fully automatic and up-to-date production lines. This leads to a pleasant production environment which results in high levels of employee satisfaction in the working environment.

WOOL
It's suatainability : Rapidly renewable, biodegradable, recyclable, and can be produced organically. To take care animal welfare, using certified RWS and OEKO-TEX.
TENCEL
TENCEL™ is brand name of LENZING™ Cellulose and Modal fiber. It helps to maintain the environmental balance by being integrated into nature´s cycle. The fibers are certified as compostable and biodegradable, and thus can fully revert back to nature.
BEMBERG
Bemberg is made from the smart-tech transformation of cotton linter bioutility waste. Biodegradable and compostable fibers and then decomposed naturally. An Innovhub report confirms that Bemberg filaments disintegrate at 100 percent and that Bemberg’s very low concentration of hazardous substances complies with the limits specified by the UNI EN 13432.
FSC
The FSC mark identifies products containing wood and its derivatives. The cellulose used for the production of viscose comes from forests managed in a responsible manner complying with environmental, social and economic standards.
RECYCLE POLYESTER
Made from recycled polyester fiber can reduce environmental pollution. GRS-certified, eco-friendly material. It made by recycled PET staple fiber to take care of environment.
BIO-DEGRADABLE POLYAMIDE
Completely decomposable when buried at the end of the fiber life cycle. Unlike other man-made fibers, where the decomposition process may take decades, BIO-DEGRADABLE NYLON is fully biodegraded after approximately three years.** Biodegradation rate of 69.7 % after 679 days according to ASTM D5511 test method.
ELITE
ELITE, which is the Stilon PBT yarns are manufactured with special care about natural environment: Conduct a recycling policy; Implement less energy-consuming technologies; Oeko-Tex® certificate, confirmed products meet high human and ecological requirements.
ORGANIC COTTON
Using organic methods that do not use pesticides and chemical fertilizers. Only using an authorized natural material such as ECO CERT-OSC and GOTS.
NOIL SILK
Noil Silk is Reusing the silk fiber. It is completely biodegradable and has a very low environmental impact. To keep your silk noil as close as possible to its original condition, we recommend dry cleaning. However, silk noil is also the most washable silk. You can hand wash

GLOBAR RECYCLE STANDARD (GRS)
The GRS provide a track and trace certification system that ensures that the claims made about a product can be officially backed up.
CRITERIA: Containing 20% or more recycle fibres - pre consumer and/or post consumer.
BETTER COTTON INITIATIVE (BCI)
We are licensed Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) cotton supplier which means we can offer traceable and ethical cotton sourses. BCI exists to make global cotton production better for the people who produce it, better for the environment it grows in and better for the sector’s future. BCI Cotton Available upon request for all cotton qualities.
RESPONSIBLE WOOL STANDARD (RWS)
The Responsible Wool Standard is an independent, voluntary standard. On farms, the certification ensures that sheep are treated with respect and also ensures best practices in the management and protection of the land. Through the processing stages, certification ensures that wool from certified farms is properly identified and tracked.
ORGANIC CONTENT STANDARD (OCS)
OCS standard provide highly-prized transparency.
CRITERIA BLENDED: Containing 95% or more organic cotton, as long as the remaining content is not cotton.
CRITERIA BLENDED: Containing 5% or more organic cotton.
GLOBAL ORGANIC TEXTILE STANDARD (GOTS)
Awarded by Control Union - the certification body governing the sourcing and processing of fibres from organic agriculture and production of sustainable textile products.
CRITERIA: Containing 70% or more organic (or in conversion) fibres. The balance, up to 30%, maybe of non-organic fibres. Regenerated and synthetic fibres are limited to 10%. Blending of organic and non-organic is not permitted.
